New posts soon!
I’ve finally finished with my finals and have made it out to visit my family in Ohio (and to scrapbook with my mom for a week). So new posts will be coming soon!
Less is more
Sometimes in card making and scrapbooking, less really is more. These cards are so simple, yet beautiful, and all I did was add a few handmade embellishments.
Update on an old card
I really loved the layout to this card I did back in June, and decided to give it a slight update using hearts and flowers instead of cupcakes.
Handmade Embellishments
I wanted to find something to do with all of my leftover paper scraps. Most of them were so small I thought making embellishments out of them would be a great idea! It was such a simple thing to do too. For the hearts and stars all I did was cut some hearts and stars with my Quick Kutz Squeeze, then attach a button in a matching color on top.
The flowers did take a bit more time. I only have one size of flower die, so this would work a whole lot better if you have more than one size to make it look more realistic. Anyway I cut out several flowers from the same paper (you could also cut from complementary colored paper too!) then crumpled them up until they almost became soft. Next I took 4-6 flowers and put them in a stack (gluing them as I went) alternating the petals so the flower would look full (my flower die has 4 petals). Finally i finished with a button that matched on top. Took a little time, but beats the 6 dollars for 4 “homemade” flowers you get at the craft store!!
Old Valentine’s cards I found..
I made these for my husband (well fiance at the time one of these were made) and I’ve been looking for them so I could take a picture and post about them.
This is one of the few “coupons” I made my husband for valentine’s day.
And here is a card I made for him another year…
The “Love Note” sticker is on a small envelope that I wrote some sweet things and stuck inside it. All of the cards on the left I wrote a part of the scripture about charity in The New Testament then wrote a message on the back.
Almost finished moving!
The past few weeks have been hectic trying to move into the new apartment. My part of the office/craft room is finished and I will be posting pictures soon. It will be so nice to have a spread out space (more than our last apartment) to continue to scrapbook!
More Cards and Pages coming soon!
Last weekend I got my wisdom teeth out, and this week my husband and I have been moving to a new apartment, so there hasn’t really been any time to scrapbook. That will change next week, however, so watch for new pictures!
